You Wear A Piece Of Art

I am creative and adventurous with my work. Each item that I make is made with love. I learned from my mother (Matilde) who is also an Artisan to make various items from Crochet, to knitting, to weaving, sewing, and embroidery. I take all that I learned from her and the natural resources from growing up on a farm in Colombia and work them into all of my inspirations. The culture there showed me that you need to create with your hands to be prosperous and have a good spirit. This will bring you to have a well rounded life.

When I arrived in Maine (United States); it re-inspired my creativity. Yarmouth, Maine and Paradise Lost Lodge (on Mount Blue) is where my husband Patrick and I call home. Maine provided a source of unlimited ideas. From the mountains to the oceans and the various changes in seasons.  Maine is definitely an Artisan's Paradise.

When we lived in Mexico and Panama, I was able to bring forth my Colombian and Maine work and also using the natural resources from those wonderful countries.  I love Molas and their designs.  I have come up with my own designs for shoes, belts, bracelets, lanyards for ID's and various other items.  I continue to make my seeded jewelry, scarves, and other personal items. I am finding new unique Artistic ideas to bring to everyone.  In Texas I loved showing my pieces of art at the Sugarland Market and also working with members of the local Weavers Guild.

I am so happy to be back in Maine in our home in Yarmouth.  Here is where I can truly creates great pieces of my art.  Maine inspires me and lets me work with various materials; i.e. merino wool, silk, silk chiffon, leather, various seeds, coffee bean designs, and of course some of my pieces of paper art (origami).
